I'm almost led to believe the Baucus bill was too good to be true for the insurance lobby but not good enough to ever see passage. Call it a trial balloon to see where the limits were on the lobbyists and the rushpublicans as this bill is so far out of whack with the others that have the public option and WILL be part of the final legislation.
The longer this debate rolls on, the worse the insurance companies look. After the noise of the teabaggers died down, the true stories of abuse and the need for change and the public option grows. Call the Baucus bill an outlier...it exposed the rushpublicans as being obstructionists and helped energize many Democrats to the urgency of getting competition and the public option included in a final bill.
