Are Republicans Conceding on Health Care?

Red State: "I am told quite reliably that in a meeting today on Capitol Hill, Republican Senators began to rapidly move toward concessions on health care because they are afraid they cannot hold their members. Some Republicans are now thinking of supporting a government program."

It's hard to believe but, according to the Kansas City Star, former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-KS) is urging Republicans to pass the bill over the objections of current Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

Said Dole: "I want this to pass. I don't agree with everything Obama is presenting, but we've got to do something."

1. of course they want the Baucus bill ...
.... they had to PRETEND that they didn't, but its an early Christmas gift to all their Insurance and Pharma pals, so I'm sure they've been planning to 'cave in' and vote for it all along.

Should the Baucus Bill fail, its likely that something truly robust and (gasp!) fair might actually make it to the next cut -- and the GOP Fat Cats simply can't allow that to happen.

2. I would think so...
Look at what has transpired over the past few months:

Significant majority of Americans want HCR;
Vast majority of Dems want HCR;
Unions want HCR;
2/3 of doctors want HCR;
Some corporations want HCR;

And all this in spite of GOP and media blitz saying the opposite.

Imagine: non-stop media lying and paid shills screaming falsehoods for the health-care industry could not turn this debate around in their favor...
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
