70% of Baghdad Children Suffering Trauma: Forced to Pass Dead Bodies On Way to School

Study: 70% of Baghdad Children Suffering Trauma
In other Iraq news, a new study from Iraq’s health ministry has found close to seventy percent of Baghdad school children are showing symptoms of trauma-related stress. The symptoms include stuttering and bed-wetting. The International Committee of the Red Cross reported last week many Iraqi children are forced to pass dead bodies on the street as they walk to school.

And this:
More than 18,000 Held in U.S. Jails in Iraq
Meanwhile the number of prisoners in U.S. jails in Iraq has now reached 18,000. More than one thousand have been jailed in the past month. The average stay in prison is now at one year with more than eight-thousand staying for longer.

Memo to GOP: FUCK YOU

By the way, this sort of trauma will actually cause organic changes to structures in their brains. They will be angry and desensitized to brutal violence. In short, they will be the farm team for the next generation of terrorists.

8. The suffering is equal - fairly - our kids to theirs.
The thing that really gets me about this war - any war- is that truth that the things that will really bother you aren't the things that happen to you - it is the things you have to do to survive.

That is what they will remember. There is a reason our kids like - cling - to those kids - they do.

I do not accept this war - I do not accept the morality -

And I do not accept the reasoning.

Joe

Our leaders have unleashed the hounds of hell and it is the innocent who pay. Generations will remember what we have done. We have disgraced humankind.

11. Passing dead bodies on the way to school.
What kind of precedent does this set? Walking around dead bodies on the way to school. Is this how inhuman dictators are created?

Cheney: Talk of blunders in Iraq is 'hogwash'
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Vice President Dick Cheney on Wednesday dismissed as "hogwash" the suggestion that blunders may have hurt the administration's credibility on Iraq and led members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to question President Bush's plan to send more troops to Baghdad.

In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, conducted a day after Bush delivered his State of the Union address, Cheney was asked to respond to some Republicans in Congress who "are now seriously questioning your credibility, because of the blunders and the failures."

To that, Cheney answered, "Wolf, Wolf, I simply don't accept the premise of your question. I just think it's hogwash."
