If today's Republican party existed in February of 1980....
...they would have booed when the US Hockey Team defeated the Soviets.

After all, it would have happened while a Democrat (Jimmy Carter) was in office.



I'm only partially joking. Actually, I'm not joking at all. Their reaction to Chicago losing the 2016 Olympics shows what they've become.

People would have been so put off by this Confederate party that they'd declare Jimmy Emperor for life.

Many of the characters that painted Carter as weak are the same ones who went after Clinton in the 90s and are attempting to do the same with President Obama.

They were hypocrites in '80 as many bitched when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan to pull out of the Olympics and then later railed against him for not allowing our best athletes to compete.
