Maya Angelou is extremely unhappy about the rumors and insists she is fine.
Supposedly the inaccurate information originated with organizers of an award ceremony in Los Angeles.

She lives in my town, and she gave an interview to our local TV station, which just aired.

And still she rises.

I had the pleasure of listening to her at a women's conference I was working. She could read the phone book and it'd give you chills but she speaks from her soul. Amazing lady.
