Yellow Journalism, the Right and Abortion
Fox News is the master of yellow journalism. Dan Rather's investigation into Bush's National Guard record was not yellow journalism because it was an investigation of the government. http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/10290">The cover up that got him fired was yellow journalism. The swift boating of John Kerry was clearly yellow journalism. The "news" on ACORN was too. The current http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2009/10/david-letterman-stephanie-birkitt-extortion.html">"investigation" into Letterman's sex life is also yellow journalism. The attacks on Planned Parenthood rests largely on yellow journalism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roe_v._Wade">Roe v. Wade rests on the right to privacy as do many other rights the SCOTUS found to rest on privacy. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/02/support-abortion-rights-declines-obama/">Support for abortion may fall as yellow journalism rises, in other words, as the right to privacy loses credibility. "In 1890, Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis published "The Right to Privacy," considered the most influential law review article of all time, as a critical response to sensational forms of journalism, which they saw as an unprecedented threat to individual privacy. The article is widely considered to have led to the recognition of new common law privacy rights of action.." (Wikipedia's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_journalism">yellow journalism page].)

Yellow journalism is largely cheap profiteering and manipulation. When people argue the First Amendment free speech rights trump all else, remember what rights that argument puts in jeopardy.
