Bush "to address nation" in the wake of VT tragedy
A tragedy it is, and I certainly don't mean to minimize it.

But a presidential address? Sounds to me like a desperate grab for better approval ratings.

YMMV... let's hear other opinions

Dumbshit (*) couldn't get to NY until days after 9-11, couldn't be bothered with Katrina. Why should he bother with this?

Just another photo op and a chance to keep his henchman Gonzo out of the news tomorrow.

I wonder how CNN knows that Shrub will be "emotional" before he's even delivered the speech. Presumably, the copy of the speech sent to CNN still had stage directions in it: "take out onion, dab eyes, look to upper left, shake head, sigh."

Terrific response time. Not!

We pay billions for HS and we don't even get a penny back for what we pay for.

Also in Virginia where the vigilante shooter was killing people for weeks. Budgets for public safety get approved. People get sacrificed. But hey, let's throw money at the incompetents. When the incompetents finally gave out the description to the public of the already known vehicle used for the shootings, an alert tax paying citizen in a matter of minutes phones in its whereabouts and our "brave heroes" arrived three and one half hours later. Just about anywhere in Virginia is a maximum three and a half hours away, if you aren't too incompetent to get there.

50. Interesting... Pelosi, Reid, Webb have already spoken
their condolences and called for a moment of silence in memory of the many students who were murdered today. I am wondering why we don't offer a moment of silence for all victims of violence EVERY day?

I hear we can expect a heart-felt speech from king George in a couple of hours. Does he need the time for the speech writers to do their magic? Or just to get sober enough to appear before cameras?.

Sorry, but I am convinced that any word we ever get from Bush is a complete lie. A psychopath is still a psychopath and for him to pretend he feels anything other than mild annoyance is the height of hypocrisy. He dishonors the young victims of this horrible act of violence today as he has always dishonored us all.
