DU's Rank and File Should File a Class-Action Lawsuit Against Fox.
How about we all sign a class action lawsuit against Fox on the bases of fraud and their false advertising (i.e. "fair & balanced")?

I say no less than a million dollars for the each of us.

:)

1. Which bases are we dealing with?
Shall we just bypass them all and go directly to Home Base?

5. To be pedantic . . .

The plural of "basis" is "bases" . . . so the OP ("fraud *and* their false advertising") was actually grammatically correct.

Have people on this board lost ALL sense of humor? You're the second one in two days. The OP author got it, now go away or start your own grammar thread. :eyes:

10. Oh, I got it all right. I just couldn't resist the urge to drop a grammar bomb . . .
It's unlikely I'll resist in the future either. It's just the way I am.

4. They need to be sued. Something has to stop the lies that have gained
traction in this country under the guise of news items.

7. wouldn't work ...
Fox already won a lawsuit, which resulted in the fact that the courts said that Fox can lie lie lie lie lie ...

8. Are you even aware how lasuits work?
You must have "standing" to sue. To have standing you must have suffered a harm.

Fox lies.... what harm have you suffered? Do you watch fox? Did you act upon information that fox lied about? Can you prove in a court of law that the lie led you to harm?

Even if you could do all that would it apply to a class action lawsuit. Did everyone in the class watch fox? Did they all suffer a harm equally?

Here is an example: I think Prop8 is an abomination but seeing as I am not a homosexual I am not harmed by it (in the legal sense of the word). Even if I was a billionaire with unlimted resources to sue CA I have no standing. If I was a homosexual but didn't have a partner I also wouldn't have standing. If I was a homosexual, had a partner, but didn't want to get married I also wouldn't have standing. If I was a homosexual, had a partner, wanted to get married but didn't live in CA once again no standing. If I was a homosexual, had a partner, wanted to get married, lived in CA but didn't try to get a marriage license (and was denied) I STILL wouldn't have standing.

You can't sue for false advertising. You can sue for a HARM you suffer as a result of false advertising.
