Irish referendum likely to approve EU Lisbon treaty

A survey of 500 people for the Sunday Independent found that 68 percent of respondents would vote “yes” in the referendum, an increase of five percentage points since the last such poll on Sept. 11. Seventeen percent said they would vote against the accord, an increase of two percentage points.

A separate poll published in the Sunday Business Post showed the “yes” side had gained one point to 55 percent, while the “no” camp advanced two points to 27 percent. That survey canvassed 1,008 people, the newspaper said.

So that's a lead of 49 points in a (small) poll, and 28% in a larger one. A wide difference, but still looks likely the treaty will be approved.

Just as long as they don't end up appointing Tony Blair as the new EU President ... :scared:
