Yet another reason why I love the Internets (food humor)
OK
First off check out this place in Hot 'Lanta.
It's called The Vortex and it's a beer, booze, and burger joint.

Go to their website and check out the RULES section.
If you have ever done any service work where food, alcohol, and THE PUBLIC was involved, I guarantee that you will love this.

Next...

A while back I stumbled onto a website called "kiss my bitter ass".
I think the site was started by a waitress for other waitresses (I'm not even sure that waitress is the proper term. Server sounds even worse. How about the kind person that brings you your food and drink) as a home where they could bitch about how bad their jobs suck and how evil the customers are.

http://www.bitterwaitress.com/index.html

There is some seriously funny stuff on this site and one could spend hours reading about the adventures and mis-adventures of those hard working people that are employed at everything from the 5 star joint to Applebees.

Here's a brief example of the humor found there.
In the forum section, they have a running thread discussing horrible customers, cheap customers, and yes even the "churchies" that's right, that would be the Christian fundys who leave religious tracts behind instead of tips.

Check this brief story out...

I had a table of 2 couples last night, about 55-65 years old.
However, they acted younger than their age.
It was one of the guys birthdays, and he was pretty cool.
Kept chatting it up with me.
The only bad thing he did was the whole "so what's your other job?
You only work here 35 hours a week and then go to school.
What else do you do?"

Guy: What do you think you'll be doing in 10 years?
Me: Hopefully I'll be in hotel management or something of the sort.
Guy: And when you are your mothers age?
Me: Hopefully be at a bigger and better hotel, maybe even a resort.
Guy: And what are you going to do when you're my age?
Me: Be retired. What's your excuse?

He Loved me. 30%.

Take a peek.
You'll recoil in horror!
You'll laugh your ass off when they eviscerate Rachel Ray and her $40.00 a day show.
You'll wonder how it is that they make it through their day without stabbing someone with a steak knife.

You'll NEVER, EVER, EVER, even THINK about stiffing your server, because they may wind up talking about your sorry ass here.

Anyway it's MY observation that liberal Democrats are FAR better tippers than Right Wing Republican assholes.

Any time I've dined with a Bush Bot at a work or personal function, they always seem to be shocked when I confront them about the cheap ass meager tip they are preparing to leave behind.

My rule of thumb about tipping is that I start at 20% and I work from there.

Enjoy!

1. Sometimes I didn't have the $ for the standard 15% tip...
...but I try to make it a point of honor to be very courteous to the serving person and treat them as a PERSON and not just a commodity.

2. I love the Vortex
I spent a lot of time in Atlanta on an assignment a few years back and I adopted that place. Thanks for the reminder!

3. Two more...
http://www.customerssuck.com/

and "The Waiter's Revenge"
http://members.tripod.com/~CastleNet/now.htm

both of these were more active, and more vindictive, a few years ago, but they're still around. Customers Suck used to be dedicated to the eternal truth that the customer is NEVER right but, alas, has mellowed a bit.
