I'm a Fundamentalist Atheist in Los Angeles. A few years ago, a local Fundie TV station ran an Apocalypse Marathon - all-day, back to back showings of the Left Behind movies, PLUS the awesome Megiddo - Omega Code flicks.

What a rich, simmering feast of ham, cheese and corn! I fell off the couch laughing at the inane dialogue, idiotic plotting, and hopeless special effects. And the acting! Whoo-boy!

Left Behind steals a scene right out of Stephen King, when the Rapture happens on an airliner in flight. False teeth left in the seats, and of course lots of empty kid's clothes, because all children are good and get an automatic Rapture Pass. (Obviously the film makers haven't met too many children in real life. At least children like I was...)

Megiddo tried to do the battle of Armageddon on a budget of about ten dollars, so we saw one tank drive by the camera over and over and over again.

I'm laughing just at the memories. I may have to get those on DVD. Though I certainly won't pay for them.
