The 2nd link clarifies that Ron PAUL did *not* vote against the plaque to honor slaves.

Steve King, Best McCarthy-Loving Homophobe Ever!

By Andrew Belonsky

Some people hate ultra-conservatives lawmakers because they try to restrict rights, propel hatred and are generally nasty jerks. But there's something to be said for the absurd amount of entertainment one gets from people like loony lawmaker Steve King.

You may recall that Iowa-based Representative King, along with Ron Paul, voted against a plaque honoring the slaves who were forced to build the Capitol building. Well, he's back on our radar after trying to connect gay marriage to socialism. In a feat irrational thinking, King, who once called Joseph McCarthy a "hero for America," argues that a socialist takeover requires the "undermining" of democracy-sustaining marriage and that gay use of public funds is "a purely socialist concept. ....

Ah, this must be like a political orgasm for King — it brings together two things he hates: those leech socialists and the dirty homos. But there are so many other eye-rolling things up his sleeve. It's really hard not to appreciate the amount of bullshit one man can produce (list of 5 examples). ....

One Congressional Hero Votes Against Plaque Honoring Slaves

By Pareene, 4:24 PM on Wed Jul 8 2009

.... But hey, look at this. Ron Paul voted for the plaque, honoring the slaves! Which means some other asshole didn't!

And that asshole is Rep. Steve King, Republican of Iowa. He is a fairly standard-issue House conservative, which means is a fucking loon. He called Joe McCarthy "a hero for America," said terrorists would "dance in the streets" when Obama was elected, claimed DC was more dangerous than Iraq, and called the abuses at Abu Ghraib "hazing." But, still, being the sole vote against a kind gesture to long-dead slaves is a little much, even for this prick!

1. He makes all of us here in Iowa look bad
Not just the idiots in western Iowa who voted for him, but all of us all over the state.

3. He sounds completely unread. Exactly how the rich people in the GOP like their political patsy
candidates.
