Cheney: Democrats likely to back down on war spending
I Hope to God that the Democrats wipe this smirk off dickheads face.

~snip~ WASHINGTON (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney says he is "willing to bet" that Democratic lawmakers will back down and approve a war-spending bill that doesn't call for U.S. troops to leave Iraq. A top Democratic leader shot back that Cheney has lost all public credibility.

With President Bush and Congress in a stalemate -- he plans to veto legislation that orders U.S. troops home, which the House and Senate plan to send him -- both sides are looking ahead. In an interview broadcast Sunday, Cheney predicted the Democrats will blink.

7. If the past is an indication, then yes
The Democrats have not become radical on this issue. They are more oppositional, but they are not cutting funding.

4.  He'd Love To Vote The Tie-Breaking Vote
This one escaped under the corporate media radar...when the Senate vote on the supplemental was happening, Crashcart was on his way to the Capitol...all set to vote the tie-breaker...only to find out Smith & Hagel had jumped, the Democrats had held and his vote wasn't needed. Oh to have been a fly on the old pacemaker for that one.

6. We must think long term. The reign of these criminals will be over soon
They are making the rope that will hang their party in 2008. We will take Congress AND the Executive branch back.

They are over playing their hand, and the 70% unapproval rate only verifies that fact

8. I would like to think he is wrong, but maybe not.
The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. I would not be surprised to see Democrats cave in and then try and rationalize or justify their choice. Sometimes it is hard to find polictians with backbones and without constantly having their fingers in the wind in order to determine what to do.

10. This is the guy who still says Saddam was behind 9-11.
If he says the sky is blue and puppies are cute, it's suspect.

12. Of course they are going to back down, they are already laying down cover to soften the blow.
But at the very least they should tie it to a huge fucking tax increase on the oil industry and anyone else that profits from the occupation. If they are going to back down, at least make it worth something!

14. Unfortunately, that's not a bet I'd take right now.
Can you say "non-binding resolution" three times fast without your tongue falling out?

Color me cynical if you will. It is what it is, and I am what I am. Flame on!
