Imus is a no-talent unfunny case where extreme douchiness defined his program. That's why he couldn't survive after a typically douchy comment. Not a loyal enough following to make it worth CBS's while

There's more going on in the world.

I was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago when he was bragging about his good works. It's sad.

4. Some of the same companies have withdrawn support to the ranch
No forum means fewer donations. But who cares about the kids anyway - except maybe Imus...

8. Because it isn't his charity work. It's his listeners paying for Imus' vacation estate

which a fraction of the time he's there also houses (in a separate house mind you) cancer kids.

9. No shit. I've never heard of anyone glorifying a tax write-off...
like Imus did. From what I gather, he must have talked about this thing every hour of every single fucking day.

Or do you maybe just not like the idea of someone helping kids with cancer?

17. A lot of people devote a whole lot of time and money...
Edited on Sun Apr-15-07 10:11 PM by Frank Cannon
to good causes, and they don't crow about it every two minutes as if it gives them some sort of free pass to be a jerkoff the rest of the time.

I'm not happy Imus is gone because he said a dumb thing. I'm ELATED that he's gone because he was a no-talent asshat who has sucked on air for decades. It's only too bad that it took something like this to finally drive his mumbling muttermouth off of the radio and his ugly mug and phony baloney cowboy hat off of the TV.

11. I imagine
If he ran an AIDS ranch or ran fund raisers for AIDS research there would be a lot more people howling on DU about how the firing will affect his ability to help those in need...

18. Relax, just my opinion...
I think other charitable causes hit closer to home here. I'm not saying that AIDS research isn't a worthy cause. Raising money for kids with cancer or to prevent SIDS just may not create the buzz that AIDS would. I think I'm entitled to an opinion without being called f*cked up.

21. why does it hit closer to home?
Have you seen the gazillion threads on cancer-such as when we raised thousands of dollars for one of our members with pancreatic cancer?

In your opinion, why would AIDS hit "closer to home"?
