Definitive "Our Crazies Are Less Crazy Than Your Crazies" Proof
Definitive "Our Crazies Are Less Crazy Than Your Crazies" Proof

Public Policy Polling just keeps revealing how stupid, paranoid, and misled the American electorate is. Here are some results from their new national poll on conspiracy theories that aren't true.

Democrats win! 25% of Democrats think Bush "intentionally allowed the 9/11 attacks to take place because he wanted the United States to go to war in the Middle East" (that is much more specific wording than previous polls so there is less "it's fair to say Bush knew" wiggle room) and 12% are not sure. But a full 42% of Republicans are positive the President was not born in the United States and 22% just cannot make up their minds about where the President, who was born in Hawaii, was born.

And self-declared "independents," once you take away the genuine libertarians and socialists and Greens and fascists who make up .01% of the electorate, remain mostly white conservatives who voted for Clinton once.

(We continue to assert that truthers—while stupid and wrong—are not as "bad" as birthers.)

15. I think they blew up a toilet
Something that regularly happens in the country with Cherry bombs in High Schools.

I don't recall them every actually taking down a building.

And told people to evacuate..

And Oklahoma was 9 years ago, 30-9 is 21... a couple of decades.

Then there was that recruiting station blown up in Times Square last year with unknown motive.

The four nail bombs at the San Diego Courthouse last year with unknown motive.

Then there's fringes like the Earth liberation front burning state buildings and business..

And the Starbucks bombing this last May...

"Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Shaw was driven by his love of "Fight Club," forming a group that brawled in Central Park, then stepping it up a notch, forming "Project Mayhem," a group of anti-social terrorists who want to take down corporate America, even targeting a Starbucks."

Of course it's long history, like in 1886 when anarchists bombed a labor rally, or like the bombing of the LA Times in 1910 by unionists, the bombing of Wall street with 100lbs of dynamite in 1920 by anarchists, and many many more...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_in_the_United_States

Nuts come in many flavors... all stripes...

I'll leave it there with something McVeigh wrote a while before the bombing... That strikes me as relevant.

“Maybe we have to combine ideologies to achieve the perfect utopian government. Remember, government-sponsored health care was a communist idea. Should only the rich be allowed to live longer? Does that say that because a person is poor he is a lesser human being and doesn't deserve to live as long, because he doesn't wear a tie to work?”

“Is civil war imminent? Do we have to shed blood to reform the current system?”

13. How many Federal Buildings no longer exist because of the Weather Underground
Setting off a bomb and setting off a bomb next to the buildings day care that demolishes an entire building are two different things. Don't try to equate the two.

10. I think if we tell birfers that WE ALL KNOW Obama is a Kenyan and we elected him anyway...
... it would just drive them even MORE insane.

And end by waving at them and saying cheerfully, "Hakuna Matata!"

25. The democratic and independent birthers weren't sure what they were...
...so they just guessed.

"Would you say your political affiliation is Republican, Democratic, or Independent?"

"Huh? What's that mean? It sounds sorta gay."

"Do you vote Republican, Democratic, or Independent?"

"Oh, um, I'll take a stab at this... My mamma always said I was sorta independent. That's how I'd vote."

20. 80,000 "CRAZY" New Yorkers
NYC CAN

The New York City Coalition for Accountability Now has come together to lead a disciplined and patriotic search for answers about September 11th toward one tangible goal: the creation of an independent and impartial subpoena powered investigation into the September 11th attacks on our great nation.

The 9/11 Commission?

“Set Up To Fail”, in the words of its Chairmen, Governor Thomas Kean and Representative Lee Hamilton. That's why 66% of New Yorkers want a new investigation. On November 3, 2009, we will go to the polls to vote for answers to the unanswered questions and for solutions to the illnesses afflicting thousands of first responders and NYC residents.

80,000 New Yorkers have signed the petition.
As with every other NYC ballot initiative, the City of New York is denying the will of its people to vote on the issues it considers most important.
