said that we should start our Christmas shopping early, since stores aren't ordering as much this year. Shopping now helps assure that your greedy young ones will receive the hot new items and won't ruin your Christmas drinking with incessant screeching about not getting them.

It's never too early to start your Christmas shopping. The Christmas junk is already out at my local Goodwill store.
