Jailed priest to face sex assault charges

A former Milford priest jailed on sexual assault offenses will go to trial on similar charges rather than accept a plea bargain, the priest's attorney said Thursday.

John M. Banko was indicted last year on one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Banko, who is serving 15 years at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Avenel for similar offenses, pleaded not guilty last November to the new charges.

...and I find Catholicism particularly offensive. However, in all fairness, it should be pointed out that less than 1/2 of 1% of priests are sex offenders. ...and yet, they are all being smeared, all the time. A child, statistically, is more likely to be sexually abused by her father, than by a priest. Oh, did you forget that heterosexual child sex abuse is also sexual abuse?

In any case, I have no objection to Catholicism or Catholics. It neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket if they worship in Latin or Hebrew or English or Tongues.

My problem is just the guys in the dresses who are running the organized crime racket that they call a "church" which keeps meddling in the political affairs of sovereign nations.
