SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - April 14, 2007 - A 75-year-old former pastor has been charged with raping several girls when he served at a Delaware County church some 30 years ago.

Gerald Klever was arraigned in Springfield on Saturday.

Klever was an Assistant Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Springfield from 1977 to 1983.

During that time, a dozen women, who were minors then, allege that Klever used force and intimidation to rape or sexually assault them.

They said the incidents happened during church outings and at youth camps.

1. Pastors, teachers, coaches, scoutmasters

are all professions that pedophiles like to get into. They give them access to their prey and authority over them. Glad more of them are now being prosecuted. I hope young boys and girls nowadays feel that they can come before authorities right away after the abuse and not have to wait 30 years.

2. Joe Sestak's hometown

Just for reference Sestak was raised in Springfield, PA. He went to catholic school (and a catholic church) and by 1977 he was in college or the Navy.
