GOP lawmakers flack for Fox
By Michael O'Brien - 09/21/09 10:31 AM ET

Republican politicians took some time from their appearances at this weekends Values Voter Summit to promote a conservative opinion site run by the Fox News.

A variety of conservatives who spoke at this past weekend's pow-wow of social conservatives taped bits promoting FoxNation.com, assembled into a video posted on Fox's website.

The rightward Fox Nation was launched in late March as an opinion arm of a network seen as itself leaning toward the right.

That perception has arguably closed some doors but opened others for the news network; it was snubbed by President Obama during his Sunday media blitz yesterday, but has scored exclusive interviews with former Vice President Dick Cheney.

"Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace had lashed out at the Obama White House for acting out toward Fox, calling them "crybabies" for being sensitive to coverage.

Among the lawmakers and political figures boosting Fox Nation were: House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.), House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R), actor Stephen Baldwin, and former "Miss California" Carrie Prejean.
