I'm afraid the ole "It's Okay If You're A Republican" doesn't quite cut it.

13. The taxpayers paid for it.
So that makes his supportive constituents a very special kind of stupid.

9. What about adultery? Is that not a crime?
According to SC law, it is and can be punished by a $100 - $500 fine and up to 6 mos to one year in jail.

"Any man or woman who shall be guilty of the crime of adultery or fornication shall be liable to indictment and, on conviction, shall be severally punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than one year or by both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court. . . . “Adultery” is the living together and carnal intercourse with each other or habitual carnal intercourse with each other without living together of a man and woman when either is lawfully married to some other person."

Now I know this isn't going to be enforced, but I'm just saying his law breaking and Elliot Spitzer's are not that different.

5. Simple...
When Spitzer got enmeshed in his imbroglio, he resigned to spare New York the distraction and side-show as he had zero effectiveness.

Sanford is a stubborn fool who refuses to give in to the demands of those who demand his resignation.

Technically, short of putting a gun to his head, no one can "force" him to do anything. The South Carolina legislature cannot even commence impeachment proceedings until January UNLESS Sanford were to call a special session for the purpose of commencing his own impeachment, which won't happen.

Remember that Rod Blagojevich never resigned and he was essentially kicked out on his ass by the state legislature.

8. The laws of the United States don't apply to Republicans.
Want proof? Take a look at Bush, Cheney and Co.

Spitzer is a Democrat which, by definition, makes him a dangerous criminal if he so much as spits on the street.

Sanford is a governor from a state that, many claim, has more than its share of people who are still fighting the Civil War.

The discrepancy between the two is a micronism of the divisions in this country today. And these are divisions that just might tear the country asunder once again.

10. Spitzer is a Democrat, so has some integrity.
Sanford is a Rethug, so doesn't have to take responsibility for anything he does.

Out the logic of these situations.

It is especially disgusting whenyou realize that Condi Rice and George W overlooked the August 6th NSA memo regarding planes flying into skyscrapers, and our FBI/CIA ignored money transfers regarding Pakistani Intelligence agents etc, but Homeland Security was adroit enough to discover that money transfers involving $ 2,500 to 4,500 were being made by Spitzer.

SO glad to know we are so well protected from Democratic governors visiting escort services.
