Check out this company: Credo Mobile
I just received an interesting email from this company touting their mobile phone service. It happens that I'm looking for another service, so I actually looked at this unsolicited email.

Glad I did. I like to support progressive companies such as this. Anyone have any experience with them? I see they're associated with Working Assets, which has been around a long time.

Here's the content of the email that caught my attention. (emphasis mine) :)

Eight Great Reasons You Should Join Credo Mobile Today:

1. We give millions each year to 50 progressive nonprofits (more than $60 million donated since 1985) and your vote helps decide where the money goes.

2. We're the only phone company supporting both the public option and a single-payer health care system.

3. We're America's greenest mobile phone company.

4. We're firmly and publicly committed to protecting a woman's right to choose.

5. We've been calling for Karl Rove's arrest since 2005.

6. We're working hard for marriage equality.

7. We helped 2.5 million Americans register to vote in the run-up to 2008.

8. We spoke out against George Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq before it started.

You see, CREDO is a different kind of company. We're not driven by the bottom line; we're driven by a belief. A belief that we can give you great service and make the world a better place — and for since 1985 we've been doing just that.

Bravo! :applause:

3. Excellent
We have used them for several years. Excellent service, nice folks, and they have a plan where there are no roaming charges. I think they use the Sprint network.

4. Love the company, love the service....
... love the ethos.

I didn't know they'd been going so long! (formerly as Working Assets)

5. I've been with CREDO for about 10 years now.
I started off with their credit card and then added mobile service about 5 years. Great company! I've been very happy with them. They support many progressive causes and are very active in governmental affairs. Highly recommended! :)

6. I'm glad they finally dumped the Brady Campaign from their list of causes.

My 2-year contract with T-mobile is going to expire in a few months.... I might just have to sign on.

Maybe not the greatest branding job.

8. I've been a customer of theirs...
...for a few years now.

The only reason I don't have an iPhone is because AT&T is the exclusive carrier.
Will NOT do business with AT&T!
Credo Rocks!

10. Credo, and its predecessor Working Assets, has been my mobile carrier for years.
In addition to all else, used to get coupons for Ben & Jerry's pints.

They do not offer service to Mexico, however -- a limitation I've had to live with.

11. yep, happy customer for 8 years.
Love their politics, they have fantastic customer service, and I always get good reception (including a bunch of places where my friends on other networks don't.)

I think they have a contract buyout offer to get you out of your current contract? Worth calling them to ask, I think.
