Republicans worry party becoming more known for pettiness.
Source: politico.com

Joe Wilson’s outburst Wednesday night earned more than a personal rebuke from the president and a dagger-eyed gasp from the speaker of the House; it drew winces from Republicans worried that their party is becoming known less for the power of its ideals and more for the pettiness of its vitriol.

“Neither party has an exclusive on wack jobs,” says Republican media consultant Mark McKinnon. “Unfortunately, right now the Democrats generally get defined by President Obama, and Republicans, who have no clear leadership, get defined by crackpots — and then they begin to define the Republican Party in the mind of the general public.”

Turn on the TV, and you see what he means.

1. Uh, it was YOUR party leadership that gave us
Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber.

And every time some high repuke official make even the slightest "reasonable" response, Fat Rush Limpnoodle called you on the carpet and made you apologize.

So don't come whining now about how it's the "crackpots" on the TeeVee... You put them there, front and center.

33. Exactly.....
The GOP courted these people for their votes, indoctrinated them with hours and hours Right-wing radio/TV (effectively making Limbaugh/Beck more powerful than the Party), and now they gotta live with them.

Republicans who act like they have no idea where all these nuts came from are being disingenuous.

2. Who cares
The average citizen barely pays attention anyway, so why does it matter if the GOP is run by incompetent extremists?

Who are not insane, precisely. But, like madmen, their priorities seem....odd.

13. Yea ..but they are known as DINO's now. We now know who needs to be replaced.

Their priorities are corporate.. I will say what I suspect you would. But I have had a few drinks.

The cycle is shifting to progressive and the pubs and dino's just help digging there own political demise despite our our lack of spine. They are the laughing stock of late night tv. :)

Teabaggers, birthers etc... they are making themselves into laughing stocks.

No they couldn't be waking up.. it's just not like them.
some of their corporate sponsors must be leaning on them.
Advertisers are abandoning Glen Beck.
Last chance to save a bi partisan market.
Last chance for mutual profits.
The rabid gasoline and food inflation played into the defeat of the Repugs in 2008.
Now it's beginning to hit them in the wallet.

24. Even more so than pettiness ...
Hypocrisy is the cornerstone of today's GOP. They not only tolerate it but embrace it. If a fact doesn't support their position, they ignore it.

32. Yup and it will keep happening cause the GOP is wholly owned by
rich people who fund thinktanks and organizations that run rallies. The astroturf movement will continue. More and more people in the middle are getting wise to the constant fear mongering the GOP does.
