Man kills two, including abortion opponent

OWOSSO, Mich. — Police are investigating the connection between two fatal shootings that left an owner of a gravel pit and a anti-abortion activist dead this morning.
The victims have been identified as gravel company owner Michael Fuoss, 61, and abortion-rights opponent James Pouillon, 63, of Owosso.

Authorities have a suspect in custody who's been identified as a 33-year-old Owosso man.

Owosso Police Chief Michael Compeau said multiple shots were fired from a passing vehicle at 7:20 a.m. in front of Owosso High School that killed Pouillon, who frequently staged protests in the area.

No motive was given for the shootings, but Compeau said he believed Pouillon appeared to be a target. "He was out protesting right across the street from the high school," Compeau said.

...(so far) is that this is not related to the anti-choice stand of the deceased.

As much as I detest the taking of a life, I am not going to weep for some asshole that spent all of his time spouting antiabortion crap and displaying signs of fetuses to passerbys. Fuck him and his ilk.

Count on it to be mentioned at the 9/12 craptacular tomorrow.

The question will be how strongly. Will they have speaker after speaker screaming that "they have taken the gloves off, they are killing our brethren in the streets" or will it just be mentioned in passing.

7. When I worked for a women's clinic that provided abortions, we used to see the protestors

verbally attacking women's partners who were accompanying them into the clinic. We would often comment that one of these days there would be a fight. The women's male partners were visibly furious and many of them would yell back at the protestors.

Some of the protestors were out and out racists. One used to croon "Hey, Tyrone, don't let them kill your baby!" to black men with their partners. It got real ugly fast.

We always had a police cruiser nearby and that kept the peace...

and part of a double homicide. Motive isn't known yet, but the other victim was known to the suspect (who is in custody).

that the guy who shot the anti-Abortionist was a fellow anti-Abortionist. Either that, or the fact that the victim was an anti-Abortionist is not the reason he was shot. Just a hunch.
