because it was just making me angry. All I could think of was that when we had the chance to really stop bin Laden, Cheney lied us into a war elsewhere because he and his big oil buddies wanted to control the oil fields of Iraq. All of those people who have been maimed, harmed, and died since then. All of the blatant thievery and the bankrupting financially and morally of our nation. Death and destruction begetting death and destruction. At intelletual level, I can say we need to commemorate to prevent it from happening again. However, I also realize that we appear to be unwilling to learn the lessons and to engage policies that would truly be beneficial to the whole world.

I can't watch this anymore today.

2. Also---Giuliani was an epic failure--don't know why he was hailed
as a hero. AS SOON as the first plane hit, he should have ordered the evacuation of the entire vicinity; instead, people were told to stay at their desks--that the impact was confined to a few floors. WTF? Some people had the intuition to evacuate anyway, but I think under Giuliani's leadership, thousands more died than necessary.

4. That and the fact that he allowed the emergency center to be
housed in those towers to begin with.

10. Giuliani was the only "leader" to be on TV that day
For those of us outside New York who did not know the politics but who were glued to the TV looking for guidance on what was happening, Giuliani was the only figure with close to national prominence to get in front of a camera and seem like someone who knew what was going on.

Bush was completely clueless and oblivious and ran to cover his own ass without one word to the country. Even though he and his people knew that both of the World Trade Center towers had been hit before he arrived at the elementary school, he still went through his playacting for another hour. Then he cut and ran to protect his own ass with no thought as to what the country needed. No other figure came forward.

I was glued to the TV, channel surfing all that day, so I got a cross section of the coverage. I had paid little attention to regional politics, just to the 200 election, so I knew little about Giuliani until later. That day, though, he was the only one who put his face on the camera and acted like he was a leader, even if he was not competent as one.

16. Yeah but for the casual TV viewer, they saw persona that Giuliani put up there
While Bush cut and ran.

3. i can't watch that stuff.... it's like ripping wounds open. I remember where I was and how it felt
watching that stuff on that day. and it seems every year they have to replay it all and you are just right back there... post traumatic stress front and center.... I don't want them to forget.... but are they purposely trying to keep us scareed??? i don't know. maybe i am making no sense. but to me maybe instead of just replaying that day over and over, they could find another way to remember it...

aren't aware that 9/11 was an excuse to launch the needless, immoral, illegal invasion of Iraq. It was the PNAC 's Pearl Harbor. If we had an honest media and politicians with any integrity at all, 9/11 would have been thoroughly investigated by now and the American public would no doubt be shocked and sickened by the revelations. Instead we have old film footage to remind the sheep to be afraid of Arabs. I intend to watch none of it.
