Look in almost any newspaper. Read the front page. You'll find bad writing. Go to a website and you'll find worse writing. Complain about it and the response will be "You understood what I ment din't you?" They respond that way because teachers have (since the 1980's) been operating under the theory that good handwriting, spelling, and construction are impediments to expression.
