Coming up on CNN "Situation Room" in a few minutes. Wolf just said there's 5 MILLION emails missing and the WH says, "yes, we have a problem." ???? a PROBLEM? I should say so!

I had no idea we were looking a 5 MILLION?????? emails? GEEZUS! How many people are involved in this?? Holy CRAP!

25. Lets assume that they did lose 5 million 'generated' e-mails.

Please note how careful they are with their words.

If I sent one e-mail to one of the lists I had going as stugov prez, or to my dept. list in college, or even to the list I keep for the 10 students/professor in the class I'm taking, I've sent one e-mail and generated many.

Those 5 million "generated" e-mails are almost certainly well less than 1 million "sent", and that's assuming each e-mail sent on average went to 5 people. Since there were undoubtedly many singleton recipients, as well as recipients in the scores or even hundreds, it's probably impossible to produce a fact-based average. I'll guess the average e-mail went to 10 people, and we're really only looking for 500k distinct e-mails.

The other 4.5 million are merely a burden to deal with.
