republican racists raising stupid children.
I live in a state that is ranked fourth in the country for it's school system. Like the rest of the top ten we are blue states. Down at the bottom, eight out of ten states are red and ignorant.

The republicans a correct. Why waste their kids time on a great speach from a great man. Keep them home and let them fail.

3. as your children go to a school of blue, mine go to a school of red AND
speak out for dems, liberal ideas, kerry and obama, and christianity that does not hurt others, meeting opposition at every turn

you DARE to come in with a self righteous holier than thou fuckin moronic attitude dissing my kids and their education.

i am so gd tired of the dems on here, uninformed, non thinking, pointing their finger at my kids education.

if this is what you teach your child, then i put you right there with the dumb shit racist repugs.

5. I'm sorry that you think it's rude that I think one of the top five...
school systems in the country is better that the 25th. I pay extremely high property taxes (the highest in the country) to support this system and I am proud of it and glad that it ranks high every year. If you are proud to rank 25th then good for you. My family moved to my home town because it had the highest school rating in the state. They paid even higher taxes than your average New Jerseyan in order to make sure we had that opportunity. I can't change the fact that the schools in Texas rank so low. Take comfort as it is one of the highest rated red states on all the lists.

Maybe you have cleaner air or bigger yards or much cheaper houses. I can't make your schools first rate. Only Texans and taxes can do that.

education. i am heartened to see the blues with the top ranked schools giving the knowledge to the nation that there is a validity to what dems are fighting for

NOT fuckin hard to see the good

fuckin assholish to come on here and tell me how stupid the kids are and brag about the school in a gd self righteous manner, lacking information on the schools here in texas. taking a number to an extreme and not having knowledgable why the numbers are as is. and then the putrid comment of me being "proud" of a fuckin 25th rated school is just juvenile and petty

i would put my kids education up with anyones on the board. the schools are doing an excellent job in academics. and my children spend a large amount of their time outside of school self educating.

i can also provide a site that names the top high schools across the nation. and these states you sneer at are the ones that have the most high schools ranked up in the top.

education is much more than a number, and i would think an educated person would understand this.

and you readily ignore ALL the children that are fighting against this fully with hearts and mind as your children sit in an atmosphere of acceptance. that alones is a HUGE advantage in education

7. First of all, I never mentioned Texas in my original post.
You seem to have a big problem with people saying anything negative in even the most indirect way about Texas.

I listen to the entire world telling New Jersey jokes but I don't take it as an attack on my family. I know it's a trade off living amywhere. It seems to me as if you protest too much (to paraphrase the bard....and I mean it as he did) and way too personally.

Sorry about your Texas thing.

i took it to texas, cause i live in texas and i can only argue what i know. but i gotta believe, that if my kids can receive an excellent education in texas, that YOU deem as poor schools full of stupids, then the other states have the same opportunities

you miss my whole point making it personal for me, it is not

i am a calif living in texas. and i hate it. dont want to live here

why argue, .... cause it is bullshit and du often randoming attacks whole states as stupid and unable to read, and poor education, without having knowledge or fact

i will always go after a nontruth posted.

13. If you don't see the relevance then I feel very sorry for your children.
(I normally don't attack people's ability to raise their children but that's how you introduced yourself to me so I'll speak your "language.)

I won't even bother to ask if your children's school has a strict policy against "Intelligent Design" being discussed in science classes.

A speech on civics and social responsibility by the President of the United States is important...especially this president. In a school setting with discussion afterwards, it gives every child in America a chance to consider what it means to be an American and how they can lay the foundation now for being part of a better country in the future.

Your idea of a good education and mine are obviously very different. I believe critical thinking is more important than Algebra that anyone can learn from a text book and a barely adequate teacher.

call names without knowledge and information. you sit in a self righteous position lording over a number as if that is conduit to an education. you have bad mouthed children, my ability to raise children on assumptions.

and what do i do.

i defend and try to provide you knowledge to allow you to understand that yes these kids are receiving an education. i would think you would be thrilled, would embrace and say.... woooosh, that is good to here. you do not. you look for more ways to make these kids less. i am able, even in argument, to acknowledge the time and money and support your kids receive in education and the benefits to party, without any negative comment. leaving it where it is. you challenge my parenting without any information, as you tell me it is not a norm for you

you are foolish.

you ignore what i post giving you the very information to allow you not to make these stupid comments. then chastise all these kids in their ignorance

not a school has brought religion into the classes. they teach evolution. 7th grade science teacher was talking evolution. a child said, "i dont believe in that". the teacher told her, "you are allowed to believe what you like" cut her off and continued to teach the lesson plan for the day.

i later saw the teacher and patted on back on her handling of situation and her challenge in class and we had an interesting, open conversation

it is the continued post such as your, nontruths that dems refuse to acknowledge, just as repugs do, in order to hate, discrimnate and continue this country in a devisive manner

you

are part

of the problem

you lack that very critical thinking you try to lord over me. falling short

16. You never answer my point or questions in your posts.
I think we were discussing the sad fact that your school did not play the Presidents speech. Your children were denied a possibly once in a lifetime civic lesson because you live in a town that decided to shut them off from information that was available in my town's schools. Here kids and families are still talking about what they heard. Children who's parents are Republicans and Democrats are doing reports in class today about how they can be better students and Americans.

You seem to think this is a useless exercise and that teaching these things are unimportant. Instead of calling me foolish and ranting about your brilliant children you might do better calling the school's principle and calling them fool.

the continual thinking for another person and the inevitable wrong. and never learning. truly amazes me.

here is how it is buddy

you were ridiculing all as stupid, an inferior academic environment... and that is what i was and continued to address in your post.

are you listening yet, cause truly i have given you much info and you have willingly ignored it consistently.

i am a calif living in texas. i raise two boys in a conservative fundie environment i have never experienced or seen. i had two kids go to a christian private school because like your attitude i thought school failures academically. my kids were faced with the hostility of fundie and we had to learn who they were and at the youngest of age, disagree respectfully, with love, yet educate them too. call them on their lies

so as you lecture me on the useless exercise, my kids at the youngest of age had to continually meet hostility with respect and love and could be no less. they had to be brave. they had to be informed. they had to be fair and just seeing all sides. at a very young age, so much was expected of them, that still in your last post leaves YOU clueless. my kids could run circles around your stupid

after the hate of 2004 election, and the damage my kids endured as their lesson in this environment i pulled them out and put them in a public school. all the bullshit you raise, i found out was pure bullshit. and still

my kids have endlessly, bravely faced strong majority opposition to their views and have continually, with courage, spoken out against the lies and the hate and the bigotry and the name calling (kinda what you are doing exactly now) with integrity, respect and love. and they triumph

so again i say to you

ALL that you are saying is pure and simple

bullshit

as you sit in the glory of like minds, easy acceptance and bask in you superiority.

do you now see how simply foolish, arrogant, self righteous you are and you utter failing in grasping the simplest,..... in your hate, and your very own bigotry.

i will do what i have continued to do over a decade and go to the principal, talk to principal, without calling names and we will resolve. we work together.

my children both talk to school yesterday about the school not showing video. they did the research, knew the issues, knew about bush 1 and reagan, knew it all.... so they could address the issue intellectually, without bigoted name calling

i am so sure you dont give a shit.... as i could go on and on and on about experiences my children have had and continue to have that is way beyond your concept, experiences with your children, and expectation of your children. but now..... with just a very little piece of all the kids have experienced in this environment and not only surviving but being much more strong and informed....

you will find a way to criticize

and that is once again

you failure.

4. The school kids in my area (south MS) are
watching the speech today. Apparently the districts here didn't cave in to minority pressure. That's all this is about, anyway. It's just a vocal minority trying to flex their muscle and seeing how far they can push the rest of us.

17. You are right. It was a sloppy post.
I never claimed to be a great student. I hated English grammar and F.D.U. (my not so great Alma Mater) didn't seem to mind. It just goes to show that all of the advantages in the world still have to taken advantage of to work.

My brother and sister both went Ivy League and I am sure my brother with a PhD. in the classics would express it in a why that would make you stop crying.

We all agree about feeling sorry for children in schools that did not play the speech.
