Report: Tasers are Safe

Researchers revealed the results of their latest study that show a jolt from a Taser causes no adverse cardiac or cardiovascular effects.

Continuous electrocardiogram monitoring was conducted throughout the testing process.

According to lead researcher Dr. William P. Bozeman, the study found that the use of Tasers or conducted electrical weapons (CEWs) were "safe and well-tolerated from a cardiovascular standpoint."

Dr. Bozeman also stated that “while serious injuries from Taser are uncommon, they are not unheard of. However, the overall balance of risks versus benefits weighs heavily in favor of their use in the right situation."

1. If it's not supposed to be fatal.
It shouldn't be ever fatal, not just almost all the time. Granted it makes police work simpler and safer, but that in itself makes the possiblity of someone getting killed by a non fatal device greater since it will probably be used more.

4. "the right situation"....
tazing someone with a rapid pulse rate is not "the right situation" they can not test on anyone with a elevated pulse rate because the subject has a good chance of dieing.
