Fox to Skip Obama's Prime-Time Address
Fox will not air President Barack Obama's prime-time address Wednesday, according to a statement from the network.

"The Fox Broadcasting Company will not air the Presidential Address to Congress on Wednesday, September 9 at 8:00 PM (ET). Fox's sister networks, Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network, will air the presidential address in its entirety," the statement reads.

CBS, ABC and NBC have all committed to running the speech, — Obama's latest attempt to gain support for his much-debated health care plan.

Fox passed on Obama's last prime-time address in July, then also referring viewers to their sister networks Fox News and Fox Business to watch it. All the networks will reportedly lose around $1 million in advertising revenue due to the pre-emption.

Wednesday also marks Fox's heavily promoted fall launch of So You Think You Can Dance and musical dramedy Glee. CBS, which is running repeats, has no real conflicts. ABC is pushing its highly rated game show Wipeoout back to 9 p.m., where it will face NBC's America's Got Talent results show.

This will be Obama's fifth prime-time speech since he was sworn in. In July, more than 60 percent of voters in a TVGuide.com poll said they preferred their regular shows to watching Obama.

1. Was it ever any wonder
FUX only gives "Stump Time" to disinformation artist like Sean Hannity and Glen Beck.

Obama's speech would be a little too close to the truth for their standards

3. Are Hannity and Beck
on Fox? They're on Fox News, but I don't think they're on Fox network.

The ginned up their viewers about all of terrible things that President Obama is going to do and then they don't show it. Those viewers are going to want to see it to see how "supposedly" bad it will be. They will go to another station to view it.

Idiots!!

4. I'm no fan of Fox but
as I recall, they left Bush's speeches to Fox News, too. And went on with their regular programming. I only remember this because I was afraid once I was going to miss House, but nope, it was on.

5. True. They can't distort what comes directly out of the President's mouth. Yet.

6. Guess they don't care about ratings
Which is odd because that's about all the Bill-O talks about.

7. Just as well.

They would be posting snarky crawlers across the screen the whole time during the address anyway.

Not every single channel needs to cover a Presidential Address.

11. they aren't interested in what he has to say.... only their interpretation of what he has to say.
if people actually watched his speech themselves, then how could faux spin it and distort it to make it something else.
