Lancaster, PA - The executive director of the county Republican Committee was arrested for alleged solicitation of prostitution in Lancaster on Thursday night and has resigned his position. William R. Coder, 25, of the 1300 block of Union Street, was arrested by city police about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of South Water Street, Sgt. Bill Hickey said.
The area, located between West Vine and Farnum streets about three blocks from Penn Square, is notorious for prostitution activity. GOP Chairman Craig Ebersole said Coder gave him a letter of resignation in person Friday and acknowledged being arrested for the alleged offense. "He maintains his innocence," Ebersole said. Coder, who is married, had been the GOP's top administrator since August 2008. Reached for comment, Coder said he was driving home from a class that had ended at 10:30 p.m. at Harrisburg Area Community College's Lancaster Campus and was "at the wrong place at the wrong time."
Coder declined to answer specific questions about what led to his arrest. "I guess as far as specifics I really don't have anything to add," he said. "What you heard from Craig and the city is true. "But I do maintain my innocence," he said. "I feel as if it was a misunderstanding as well as a lapse of judgment in being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm certainly regretful for it," he said. "But what the police allege I did, I believe, is not an accurate account of what happened," Coder said. "I respectfully disagree and maintain my innocence."

Coder also had served as chairman of the county Young Republicans, co-chairman of the GOP voter registration committee and was a committeeman in the city.
Coder is a graduate of First Baptist Academy in DuBois, Clearfield County, and Lancaster Bible College with a degree in Bible and pastoral ministry.

- Well, with a degree in the bible and in being a pastor we can be certain of one thing: he was up to no-good. But whatever he was doing down there in the dead-of-night with what I'm certain are also "innocent young ladies" -- while the Mrs. Coder waited for him at home while his dinner grew cold, I sure as hell hope that at least he's been practicing safe-sex. I mean because now that he's had to go and quit his job he won't have any health insurance.
And it'd be a terrible time to get an STD and have no insurance right now, wouldn't it Bunkie????==============================================================================
