Maybe it's because she's nervous doing TV and standing in for THE Rachel Maddow, but she seemed to trying to imitate Rachel's spunk because the writers were writing for Rachel. It wasn't Ana Marie Cox. It was trying to sound like Rachel.

I've seen this with Olbermann too. The writers don't make allowances.
