What would you like to hear from Obama Wednesday night?

I'd like to hear that there will be no compromise when it comes to a strong public option.

I'd also like him to challenge the Repugs and Blue Dogs by asking them why they think the American people deserve less of a health insurance system than they enjoy.

6. That the immoral, unethical practices of rescission & prior condition filters disappear on DAY 1
Also that the government will negotiate drug costs like every single other country does.

Oh, and did I mention Medicare opened up to anyone who needs/wants it - OR the same plan the Reps themselves have - the Federal Employees Plan. That Could be the public option - Medicare OR the private plans offered to Federal Employees.

As far as employer participation - why couldn't it be a simple set amount ( a percentage of the employees salary)DETERMINED BY THE COMPANY that could be applied to ANY plan the employee picked? Wouldn't that still maintain employer participation as a company incentive to keep the best employees? "My company pays 10% of my salary towards healthcare" "oh, yeah, mine pays 15% of my salary" "Gee, mine only pays 8% of my salary".

8. For me - no comprimise about a public health option. adding....

"I've tried working with the Republicans, but they've shown time and time again that their only goal is to block anything we try to do, so with the votes that we have, all that is off the table! It's time to put America back together."

9. I'd like to hear him say, "I won't sign a bill unless it:
1. prohibits denying access to insurance or health care based on pre-existing conditions
2. prohibits denying coverage for pre-existing conditions
3. prohibits basing the cost of access to health care on the health of the individual seeking access
4. prohibits lifetime caps
5. provides subsidies for those who cannot afford to pay for health care
6. Implements at least the first 4 within 3 months of taking effect, and the 5th within a year."

A public health option would be nice. Single payer would be better. The first 5 above are a bare bones minimum, without which the "reform" makes no substantive change and passing a bill without substantive reform would set back the cause at least a decade.
