Today, the President took another important step toward a more open and transparent government by announcing a historic new policy to voluntarily disclose White House visitor access records.

The Administration has also agreed with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW) to settle four pending cases requesting specific White House visitor access records, including those dating from the Bush administration (read the transmittal letter here). We have provided CREW with the records relating to their requests, which are here:

16. Thanks for sharing that. An old friend on facebook posted it this

way - " Saw this on MSNBC - Obama has now allowed White House visitor access records to be disclosed. For 8 months this was not allowed. Whatever happened to the promised transparency. Hmmm - must be hiding something." Or words to that effect. He is somewhat a Republican, but more so, doesn't like President Obama, or at least his administration. After reading your post and seeing it was the first time in history, I did a little copy and paste from the blog and made a comment on his post. Told him that it wasn't 8 months, it was always that way. I hate to get political on Facebook - with friends and all - but it bugged me. Hope he doesn't get all pissy now - or come back with some more ignorance. Well - it's done, can't delete it now. Thanks again. K&R
