Many Republicans had no problem with President Bush starting an illegal, lie-based unnecessary war in which more than five thousand U.S. soldiers, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children--were killed.
Many Republicans had no problem with President Bush delaying food, water and rescue to Katrina victims for several days, and didn't see any reason to be upset when Bush stood behind "Heckuvajob Brownie" who spearheaded the incompetent effort.
Many Republicans stood by as President Bush violated Geneva Conventions and enacted torture as a national pastime and disgraced the good name of our country.
Many Republicans said it was just fine if President Bush illegally wire tapped American citizens and circumvented the FISA courts.
So, let me get this straight. All of those things (and more) are appropriate and acceptable for a President to do.
However, according to these same Republicans, when a President wants to tell school children -- "Study hard, do your homework and stay in school so you will have a bright future with limitless possibilities" -- that's outrageous, scandalous and so horrendously nefarious, that they must galvanize and fight to prevent such horrendous injustice.
Just wanted to make sure I had it straight.
