There was a great post on here a while back on all the things Republicans shouldn't take advantage of, if they are so opposed to a public health care option. Medicare, USPS, interstate highways, etc... anyone have a link?

I wanted to copy and paste because of this exchange on Facebook:

My friend - "No one should die because they can't afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick."

His friend (someone I don't know) - "and nobody has the right to use my hard earned money so they can have healthcare.... if they want healthcare they should get job and budget their money so they can get insurance"

3. Let's see a comparison of the cost of health care to the minimum wage

I suspect it's pretty close right now and in ten years or so, it will cost more for health care than a minimum wage employee earns in a year.

That sort of puts the kibosh on your friend's friend's argument.

4. I don't know the thread you are looking for but I bet you could make a list

rather easily. For instance:
Stay off the streets.
Get all your mail through FedEx and UPS (if you don't mind them using the streets.)
Stay out of airports. I think they are all built with federal money.
Stay off any public transit.
Buy your food and drugs in some other country. Ours is (supposed to be) federally inspected.
Internet? forget it!

After all, other people's hard-earned money funded all of those things!

5. It's amazing how bloody far out-of-touch some people are with reality.

Wanna bet that same wingnut is pissed about increases to minimum wage? At the rate my insurance company charges to cover my wife and me, it would take a $13/hour job just to pay income & payroll taxes and the insurance premium. If you insist on luxuries like minimal housing & food, you'd need to make at least $20/hour.

I don't usually get into it on Facebook, especially with people i don't even know, but i just couldn't leave that alone. I think this guy is in the military, so he is probably covered by government-run insurance anyway!!!
