1. GE represents everything bad about US business. Turned itself into a financial company
Not that anything that comes out of Bernie Goldberg's mouth can be trusted.

But GE is a sad story that's emblematic of US capitalism. GE used to make electrical equipment, generators, motors, aircraft engines, and lots of consumer appliances.

In order to help big corporate customers purchase its equipment, GE created a finance arm, kind of the way car companies created finance companies to help consumers buy cars.

At some point the CEO of GE (I think it was Welch) recognized that GE was making more money from its finance division than from its manufacturing division. So it decided to sell off more and more of its manufacturing assets, to focus on finance.

Typical short sighted, lazy, short term thinking American business culture.

2. Ah, but you're missing the point here.
Fixed Noise is not attacking GE for its finance division. It's attacking GE for its NEWS division...namely, NBC News and MSNBC.

It's more circus goofiness designed to discredit their competitors, who are stealing viewers away from them as people wake up to reality.

Please, don't think this is going to be anything like a serious investigation of the "evils of GE." Uh-uh. It's gonna be "Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow are EEEEVUUUUL COMMIE PINKO FASCIST SOCIALISTS." Period.

5. Good luck taking on GE...
...one of the largest industrial companies in the world. They are involved in everything from washing machines to electric locamotives.

Enron was a one trick pony.
