2. I don't know if it will mean anything to you, but I used to see
"BUSH" spray-painted across the bottom of Stop signs during shrub's last 6 years in office.

3. I would think the city would
take care of it since it's a Traffic Stop Sign.. and against the law to deface.

11. What part of Va. are you in?
Edited on Thu Sep-03-09 10:43 PM by dgibby
I grew up in Clifton Forge, about 40 miles north of Roanoke.

I know what you mean by being an outsider. I'm living in the Low Country of SC. Charlestonians refer to anyone born north of Broad St. as being from "off"!
I even got accused of being from the North!

19. True, but at least we in the North - like the Civil War -
are at least a bit tolerant.

We're not racists.

Or so I like to think.

It does go both ways........................

20. bamba, people will argue it, but from my experience in NOVA
the real race issue is between the latinos and blacks, we have major issues up here with it, there are some crazy racist white dudes but they are few and far between compared to the latino/black thing. main question is im awake because im at work what you doing up

21. Aw, dawg, I'm a vampire -
a real night owl. The night is my favorite time, and in the hot weather, I routinely stay up until around 4, 5, sleep until after noon.

You're right about the black/Latino thing here and in DC. It's ugly.

Everybody always has to have someone to hate. The Latino/Latino violence is really bad, too. Don't you see that on your job?

22. its not really latino on latino, its el salvador against every other latino
then you throw in black and it gets messy, In NOVA i got to say the number of racists i come across who are white is substantially small compared to the number of black/latino and even asian racists. though i would definetly reverse that once you get to real VA..

There's a bunch that could depart this world and no one would weep.

Asians are the WORST racists. I learned that living in Hong Kong. I was totally blown away learning that, I really was.

"the real VA"?

I'm gonna smack you, dawg..........................

33. Along one of the paths I routinely go down
These people have had a sign outside their small ranch for at least the last 20 years.
It said "Proud Texas Democrat". It was a metal sign.
A month or so ago, that sign was torn from the pole (after 20 years) and bent in half and thrown on the ground.
They didn't replace it.:(
My Democratic bumper stickers were defaced and I finally removed them, afraid that my car would be next.
There is a bad wind blowing out there.
