Just heard on Bloomberg speculation that Obama may use the public option as a bargining chip
especially to attract republicans such as snowe

If this speculation has any validity, then I believe they will be in for a sorry surprise, especially among progressives

It was only a few weeks ago that a "senior advisor from the Obama administration" was taken by surprise that the public option would have such passion, followed by comments that this was from the "extreme left of the party"

I certainly hope they are not that out of touch

1. There's a priority list, and I'm getting nervous about some DUers and THEIR priority list.
When someone says, "Obama must make it clear he will veto a bill without the public option (or single payer) or I will no longer support him", what they are really saying is, "If I don't get my public option, then I don't want reform at all. Screw the uninsured."

It's unbelievably selfish.

4. For the insured, that's status quo. For the uninsured, no reform means no insurance.
F*** that!

23. Mandated health insurance WITHOUT a public option............
just jacks up the profits for the insurance corps! oT MAKES ABSOLUTELY no sense to ratchet up the profits of these goons and force people to pay high prices for a faulty product.

we ended up with not a goddamn thing for 15 years....
How many lives were lost in those 15 years?
Guess we will never know....and some probably don't give a shit
cause it is all about what they think is right, which apparently,
for too many means all or not another goddamn thing for another 15 years.

FUCK THAT!

6. We need to be absolutely certain that everyone is insured.
Once that is assured, we take the next step.

11. First we make sure the insurance companies have a complete stranglehold.
Once they completely take over by mandate, we take the next step. (Privatizing Medicare)

14. you got that right.
I'm for universal single payer care.

The only mandate should be on the government.

10. Without a public option, it's mnandated wealth transfer
from the working poor and middle class to the insurance comapnies.

Fuck that shit.

16. I want a public option probably more than the next person,
as I would qualify to get it.

and yes, I agree that a mandate without the OP
is really going in the opposite direction
than the one that we should be going,
but I think Obama knows that,
so I'm not as worried as others might be....
and so I will wait till then to judge
what this reform will or will not mean.

Till then, I continue to insist on a Public Option,
and I will fight for it in everyway....

However, I don't need to see Obama with a veto pen in his hand,
cause we know what that got us last time.

17. If there's no public option, I want a veto
Sorry, but that's my opinion.

I will work against the election any politician who votes for or signs a health care reform bill that does not include a strong triggerless public option.

18. The past two days, the media have been sending up nothing but...
'trial balloons'. It's not surprising given their time to negatively influence the debate is coming to an end so the hyperbole will be increasing exponentially, imo.
