Air America's big boner
Today is the last day for the daily Sam Seder show.
I couldn't be more disappointed.

1. Me too! and they're replacing him with a Libertarian
If I want right wing views, I'd listen to Rush Limbaugh and the MSM. I come to AAR for liberal and progressive viewpoint.

5. But . . But . . the resident 'radio people' sez they gotta run to the right
to make 'liberal' radio successful.

We are just a niche, the world is not like DU, 'they've got to make a play for the mainstream'.

Or so the masters of conventional radio wisdom (aka the Bob Schrums of liberal radio) say.

if they had gotten the liberal message out better, I think they woulda found that more people think like us here at DU than you may think. some people are just in the closet on some of their real beliefs because of friends or family who are the opposite.
if all of america could really hear what the "liberal agenda" or message was, then i think theyd be inclined to want most of it.

40. Our resident "radio people"
somehow are not aware that there are 3.3 million members of MoveOn.org just for starters. There is a significant audience for true progressive radio and shows like Sam Seder's if only the business side can get its act together and sell it.

3. Last night he was on with Keith Olbermann, talking about Imus' firing and not a word about his own.
I am so sad about this. Sam speaks truth to power and he deserves to be heard far and wide.

PS..... I secretly hoped that Keith had him on to show what a well spoken person he is, and that Sam can include it on his resume. I also think Sam is a natural for tv.

If he had ever bothered to actually improve his actual radio skills instead of just making fun of the people he doesn't like, he might still be making a living in radio.

Oh, and by the way, just because I'm not a fan of Sam Seder doesn't mean I abuse women or small animals.

a valued voice indicates that you, sir, have some definite issues with morality and/or judgment.

Or, maybe, you are just not really compatible with a Liberal/Progressive discussion forum. A forum that SHOULD show some consideration for others.

26. I look at the subtraction of Sam Seder as a good thing for
liberal radio, not a bad thing. He is what's wrong with the concept of liberal radio. His callers sound better then he does at making a point. The constant "ah... ah.... ah...." is annoying.

I am compatible with any forum where people are allowed to voice their opinion. As far as consideration is concerned, what about the consideration Sam Seder gave to Ed Shultz? Nothing says consideration more they trying to get someone fired.

fired. He asked me as an XM Radio subscriber to call XM and demand that they fire Ed Shultz. It's now ironic that he himself is being fired. Karma.

work out so well. How long ago was Sam Seder trying to get Ed Shultz fired from XM Radio? I wonder if the powers that be at Air America had already decided to fire Same Seder when he started his campaign against Ed Shultz.

Karma. You have to love it.

37.  Man , everything just turns to shit
You know I finally thought for a change when AAR hit the airwaves we had made such progress , finally we could listen to hosts and subjects we could relate to and had hope of this growing and expanding . This is what it looked like once Malloy come on , even our L.A. affiliate aired the entire lineup even though is was all 3 hours later re-broadcasts it was there .

My wife and I got XM so we could listen live and it was great it was an inspiration .

However as time went on so did the changes and the disappointment , once this begins you can almost be certain it is the begining of the end of yet another hope .

All the horrors of life since 2001 seemed to be possible to change for the better .

Why is it that nothing good ever seems to last , I am beaten from this . I don't want so sort of mid road radio filled with jokes or the talk of the town , I wnated facts and truth and rage that matched my own .

It seems once the course is changed it never comes back and I am sick to death of change at such a rapid pace and always for the worst .
