Mich. church enlists Satan in advertising campaign

(09-01) 19:02 PDT Trenton, Mich. (AP) --

A Michigan church is enlisting Satan in a bid to drum up attendance at services. Metro South Church in the Detroit suburb of Trenton is posting signs saying the non-denominational Christian congregation "sucks" and "makes me sick." The ads are signed by Satan.

The campaign even has a Web site explaining why Satan hates the church.

Youth Pastor Adam Dorband told WJBK-TV the church is trying to reach out to people and cut through the "noise."

Dorband said Jesus "wants us to be creative and he wants us to ... use whatever it takes to reach people."

beliefs. God I hate the self righteous assholes in this state. A few months ago these types came to my door, I said to them "I already have my beliefs in the religion of my choice and I wasn't interested in what they had to say nor would I ever step foot in their church". They had the nerve to reply with "oh thats not what we are hear for". So I said, "get the fuck off my lawn then and by the way isn't lying the same sin as murder in your beliefs"? Odd thing is the have avoided my yard every since, I see them knock on the neighbors doors but they will cross the street before coming on to my side walk.

3. I enjoy sowing the seeds of confusion in them

Last year, a local fundy church was in my neighborhood going door-to-door handing out fliers for their Fall Festival party that was going to be held on October 31st. Some guy from the church was unlucky enough to catch me when I was puttering around in my garage. I looked it over, and we had this conversation:

ME: Why is it a Fall Festival party and not Halloween?
HIM: (Mishearing what I said) That's right, sir. We would never call it Halloween.
ME: No, you don't understand why don't you call it Halloween?
HIM: (Starts to say something)
ME: Look at your own flier. You're having costume contests, treats, games like apple-bobbing, hayrides, and even a bonfire. These are everything you find at a Halloween party.
HIM: (Starts to say something)
ME: I mean, you might as well celebrate December 25th by getting together with family, exchanging gifts that were under a decorated tree, and worshiping Jesus but make a big deal that you're not celebrating Christmas.
HIM: (Confused look on his face) Well, sir... I really need to get going to the other houses.
ME: Okay. Have a Happy Halloween!

I notice this is for a local non-denominational church...which leads me to guess thy're not the aggressive fundamentalist types. But hey, knock yourself out. I'm an atheist by the way.

Heaven's all about drinking milk and singing hymns--no sex or booze. Hell's partytime all the time, free drinks, and everyone's single and hot to trot! And besides, all the best rock groups are gonna be in Hell.
