I don't think it's fair to pit them against each other. They both are awesome in their own way.

38. If your TV only had enough juice to watch one hour of TV, which one would you pick?
I don't know why, but the inability to answer little hypotheticals like this kinda bother me.

It's just my thing, I guess.

12. right but then the premise of the poll (if you had to pick one) wouldn't work.
So, if I could only pick one, I'd pick Rachel.

2. If I was forced, I'd pick Rachel. Substance over style.
And the funny thing is, I think if asked, Keith would say the same thing. Keith is gutsy and entertaining, but Rachel is a Rhodes scholar, PHD in political science and her team does some of the best political investigative journalism in American mainstream media today. Her self-proclaimed "wonkishness" is sorely needed, even more than Keith's bravado, though it is very cathartic.

at all..they have...they have done stories that we tend to forget...especially Rachael...I love them both...and Big Ed too.

He's a little over the top, IMO.

But by in large he does great work.

8. In a knife fight or hand to hand, Maddow would murdelize him.
In a gun fight or duel, however, it would be a toss-up.

13. That ridiculous thing about Pat Boone in 'worst persons' last night
seals my vote for Maddow. Olbermann is given to going off half-cocked. And no, that's not a sexist slur.

42. I certainly wouldn't question Boone's idiocy.
But simply referring to cancer cells as black (which they are) does not make him a racist. The article in question is completely stupid, no doubt. But the idea that it's blatant racism is pretty ludicrous. I have to say it was among the more boneheaded things I've seen Keith said.

20. I like them both, but I chose Maddow
I think Olbermann is much better at delivering a rant but Maddow has superior journalism skills. While Maddow may not get us as riled up as Olbermann does she is more effective at exposing the truth and that is why I chose her, she is great at digging up inconvenient facts.

26. Rachel - she does better interviews
She'll ask a question and let the person answer. Keith talks too much and tends to pontificate and then ask his guest to agree with him.

27. Rachel. Love 'em both but I get better info from Rachel.
KO is great and he is fun. Rachel delivers the goods and lowers the boom. She has the intellectual firepower that I need to discuss issues. KO delivers some great points and I love it. He is a fierce advocate when Rachel gets intellectual but at the end of the day I need intellectual firepower to make my arguments and she's got 'em.

32. Maddow. Olberman rocks but I think she's better at explaining what needs to be explained.
Personally I love Olberman's style. Fucking hysterical to me and I often find myself cheering when he's on. But as far getting people to understand important issues and addressing the really important issues, she's able to take people by the hand and slowly walk them to seeing what needs to be seen from it better than Olberman can. Olberman works for people who are already paying at least some attention to the world around them - and so does Maddow. But Rachel also seems to know how to make everyone who isn't paying attention, but is at least a bit curious, get it. And for people that won't watch her because she's a lesbian - fuck em. Do you think anyone that would hold that view at this time in history can actually hold a rational thought?

Keith is a goodlooking sumbitch, dresses like a Thirties Gangster (sharp!) and is really bright.

Now, if I was gonna go play for the other team, Rachel just might make me jump.....

41. olbermann is a clown. maddow is a treasure
fwiw, i don't hate olbermann. i just think his schtick gets old after about 5 minutes.

i have been saying this for long before maddow even got her own show.

i remember her on tucker carlson's show, and just knowing she had star quality. whip smart, well spoken, funny, charismatic. just wonderful.

keith, imo, is a clown. and his act gets old.

i turned on a few of my repub friends to maddow's show fwiw. one of them really likes her. she's THAT good.
