health care reform- fixed fight analogy
It's fascinating watching the DLC try to throw the fight as they've been instructed to do. From the opening bell, Reid and the rest have been sneaking peeks for a soft spot on the canvas. But the lights are intense and the opponent is weak. It takes some skill to lay down and not let on that the fight is fixed, and the DLC doesn't have it. The fight that we've been eagerly awaiting since November has become a charade. Wait for the phantom punch.

1. I agree. The PO was supposed to be bargained away from the start. It was there for show.

2. Love your passion for Single-payer, the truly effective health care, but don't assume it could have
passed if Obama and some other passionate progressives just wanted it enough and tried to make the case. You always underestimate the challenge as unified Dem party, President, country and citizenry against doing something good.

3. I'm all for the fake public option. I'm just opposed to pretending it does anything at all to help

consumers or to threaten insurance industry profits.

I agree with you that the only bill they will pass is a bill the insurance industry, big pharma, and the equipment manufacturers approve.

We as citizens have no voice and zero effect on the outcome. It's all fixed.

Yes, you are correct.
