Poll question: Generally was the way the cable news channels covered the Kennedy funeral acceptable?
I don't watch Fox but I switched between CNN and MSNBC and was pretty much satisfied with the coverage I seen. I thought it was in pretty good taste.

1. Yes -- I think they did it pretty much just right. They were silent when it was
warranted, and I learned a lot of stuff from their commentaries when they engaged in that. I mostly watched MSNBC. I don't even know what channel Fox is on with my cable provider, but then I don't need to.

2. I only watched MSNBC
They knew when to be respectfully silent and let the rituals speak for themselves, for which I was thankful.

3. They did a good job.
with the notable exceptions of the excreble John King on CNN and the insufferable Tweety on MSNBC.

5. Someone posted that tweety mentioned Mary Jo Kopechne and Chappaquiddick, but no one else did
thank god.

4. MSNBC was OK for the most part
With the exceptions of Tweety's stupid babbling, too many airings of his documentary and an old "Headliners & Legends" episode, and the fact that they continued to air corporatist anti-reform/false "reform" messages during the shows allegedly in tribute to Teddy. Couldn't stand more than 5 minutes of CNN with Leslie Blitzer and Candy Cowpie. FAUX, of course, was completely out of the question.

6. I watched it on C-span, mostly.
I can't stand all that endless "commentary" on CNN and MSNBC. I switched channels a few times, especially during that long wait at Capitol Hill. Of all the yakkers, the only one I could stand for more than a few seconds was KO. Tweety should have his lips glued shut sometimes.

7. I was watching the Boston local coverage
and I was amazed at how good it was.

8. Teddypalooza.... I had it on all day.
Mostly MSNBC because I was too lazy to change the channel. I needed background "noise" while I was working. I did turn it off for a while between the funeral and DC procession.
