Imus gets fired, but Michael 'Weiner' savage lives on (My rant. Albeit a short one)

I'm not endorsing Imus. I live overseas, so I've only ever heard him a few times. I find his show boring and I find him pompous... but how in the name of God does the most vile person in talk radio continue to stay on?
From reading the news, you'd assume that this had never happened before, that Imus invented saying stupid racist things.

I don't like capt oxycotin, nor do I listen to him, but compared to weiner, oxycotin is a loveable guy.

No one says more hateful and vulgar things than savage.

Who are his sponsors?
Why aren't they under pressure to pull their advertising?
Why does he get a pass?

1. Just a matter of time before he's gone, IMO.

He was dropped from MSNBC, he got picked up by a big-time Hollywood talent agency then dropped two days later for dissing Melissa Etheridge. The guy can't help but shoot his mouth off.

They're wailing and gnashing their teeth about Imus being singled out - versus black rappers, of course - but completely ignoring hate-crazy Uncle Glenn in their own attic. Email Cafferty and Dobbs and the rest.

cross section of the American public and was associated more closely with mainstream America.

Imus was fired because Imus lost his sponsors. Imus lost his sponsors because they target their products at a broad range of the population and did not want to be associated with his bigotry. Savage Weener's listeners are just not of interest to P&G or GM or Amex to begin with.

6. We -- the audience -- took down Savage's TV show. Dr. Laura's, too.

Maybe someone can make a list of Savage's radio sponsors and we can tackle them. I think I used to hear him on KXL in Portland, Oregon -- but I rarely listen to that station anymore.
