I gave that Texan the benefit of the doubt. I still support the war(s). I want victory as the only alternative in Iraq. In that respect his single-mindedness and apparent determination won me over. I am hard-core anti-Jihadist. And as one who recently left active duty and fought in the first engagements after 9-11, I have maintained strong ties to our defense establishment. But the more I know from the inside the more I am disappointed. Unlike Ronald Reagan who could be friends with political foes and get things done, he clearly lacks the charisma, aplomb and interpersonal political skills to charm his opponents. I've GROWN to the conclusion the guy is just a clod. Not evil. Not Hitler. Not even stupid. But he just can't put together a coherent political strategy. He needs to succeed to some extent in order we don't lose the nation ENTIRELY to radical leftists, or lose the GWOT (which is REAL). But this guy is fast losing me.
