Unfortunatley Teddy's Death won't alter the Health Care landscape with the opposition
I already see the Republicans (including Lieberman on Larry King last night) saying that Teddy's legacy was the ability to "reach across the ailse" and "work out a bi-partisan approach" that would pass. And we already know that the GOP's idea of bi-partisanship doesn't include a Public Option.

Where, hopefully, Teddy's death might have an impact is on wavering democrats who (we hope) will be more fortified and fight harder for a Good health care package which includes a Public Option.

We cannot allow a health care bill with Ted Kennedy's name on it be nothing but smoke and mirrors.

1. Agree. He always looked for the best in all of us. Seems many resent a bar set higher
Too many are hell bent on showing him he was wrong about people and our nation. They are determined to keep seeing, and finding, the worst in most of us, then proclaiming the worst is all there is. They work very hard at self-fulfilling prophecies, don't they?

I do not want to 'honor' Ted Kennedy with the empty gesture of his name on a bill that does not fix any of the problems. Worse than that, one of my senators is a man named Max Baucus, and I fear is is a big part of the problem. Hope to hell he proves me wrong, but he is no Ted Kennedy and he doesn't fight hard for the greater good.
