The Obama Health Care Bus was in Phoenix tonight! Kicking off their tour.
We had hundreds of progressive activists out with signs along 7th St. in front of the IBEW Hall. We outnumbered the teabaggers and got lots of honks and thumbs up! Mitch Stewart of OFA, several elected officials, and a wonderful woman who had a harrowing experience with the insurance industry spoke in the parking lot.

Woo hoo! :woohoo:

3. How exciting! I wasn't aware that there was an Obama Health Care Bus that
hit the road! I'll have to see if they're coming here!

Don't THEY have a shiny bus that they send people to town meetings in? Apparently it wasn't in Phoenix since you outnumbered the teabaggers. I have no doubt OURS is better.

:woohoo: is right!

6. I just went to abc15.com hoping to see a pic -- there was coverage of McCain's
meeting, but I didn't see anything about the Obama Bus. Any links?

Health Insurance Reform Now Bus Tour Kickoff Rally (Health Insurance Reform Now)
Our "Health Insurance Reform Now" bus tour -- part of a big push before Congress heads back to Washington -- will be in Phoenix, Arizona this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

We'll be gathering together to show our support, hearing from speakers -- including Organizing for America Director Mitch Stewart -- about what reform would mean and how to fight back against the lies, and presenting thousands of Arizonans' declarations of support for reform.

Will you join the "Health Insurance Reform Now" bus tour in Phoenix? Here are the details:

What: Health Insurance Reform Now Bus Tour Stop

Where: IBEW Hall
5808 N. 7th St.
Phoenix, AZ 85014

When: Wednesday, August 26
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

We want our Members of Congress to head back to Washington with calls for reform still ringing in their ears -- and knowing that those who are working hard for reform have our thanks. But we can't do it without a massive show of support from the voters who know what's at stake.

We've been building support for reform person-by-person in recent months, collecting over 1 million declarations of support for reform from folks across the country -- and this Wednesday, we are going to join voices and echo one message about where the American people stand on health reform: Let's get it done.

Be part of history -- sign up now to join the "Health Insurance Reform Now" bus tour in Phoenix.

11. Not to derail this thread...
But how does the whole "contractor" part of the plan work?

I've seen data on big employers, but what about independent contractors (like electricians, software authors) who are temp for other corporations all the time?

Anybody spare a link?
