I'm in shock about Ted Kennedy, no tears yet, only a sinking feeling in my stomach.

Wow, I feel sick. This is the worst political loss in my lifetime.

RIP Teddy, I pray that you remind those in congress what it means to work for the people.

God Bless you.

1. His was a life of service
In the old style, he believed that with great privilege comes great responsibility. I don't know how many others today know that lesson.

2. It is a sad day.
He is one of the last of his kind of public officials who took their duties of service to their country and the people of that country seriously, unlike the lying, greedy, corrupt elected officials that today are too prevalent in politics.

3. Has anybody seen my old friend John
I was just 21 by 4 days when they shot Jack Kennedy and I felt numb as we watched every step of his death and funeral, I don't remember if I ever cried, it was just the numbness and overwhelming sick to my stomach. I cried when they shot Martin Luther King and for the first time in my life I felt that there was evil afoot. I was watching Bobby's speech in LA and watched as he was threaded through the kitchen of the hotel and watched as he went down, his last words were "is everyone alright" I cried and cried when he died and I was angry so angry, when John Jr.s plane went down I believed someone killed him, like they did his father and uncles and I cried for his sister and family.

Tonight I feel like the dreamers are all gone and left behind their dreams for us to build upon. The Kennedy's seemed to ride out of the mists, handsome, imperfect, fearless, full of dreams and giving hope to generation after generation, Teddy was the last of the dreamers for my generation. I don't know if Obama can actually carry the torch Ted Kennedy passed on to him, it doesn't look like it but time will tell.

Somewhere there are people rejoicing that the Kennedy brothers are dead, others have tears and even the old familiar numbness. We will all watch as they put the Great Liberal Lion to rest and it's with hope in my heart that we the people can, will, must keep the dreams alive and working.

God Bless you Teddy Kennedy for staying with us as long as you could to help us take up the torch you are passing, the dreams you lived for. Rest in Peace.

4. I hope he wen't
peacefully. Not to lessen the pain and suffering of his brain cancer, but I am truly glad that he passed away a natural death, something that was not afforded to his 3 other brothers. RIP Senator :grouphug:

6. I feel the same, but I am entirely hopeful that a few days of "Saint Teddy the Lion and
his dream of universal healthcare" news coverage will send the, already unstable, haters over the edge. Combined with the massive upselling of support, which should be our legacy to him, he is very possibly going to bring about in his death that which he fought so hard for in his life.

I do so hope he's watching.

It's gonna be one hell of a wake!
