Where is Hollywood on Healthcare? Have I missed Redford's commercial?
I can see their faces or hear their distinctive voices in all sorts of commercials from fundraisers for various causes to commercials for questionable products. But I don't think I have seen Robert Redford, Joan Baez, Alan Alda, Ron Howard, Madonna, Will Smith, Charlie Sheen, Michael Jordan, Robert Wagner, or Billy Ray Cyrus plugging universal healthcare.

I realize that some of these people live cloistered lives, but I think that if Joan Baez can fire up her kitchen camera for an election in Iran she could manage to knock out a 2 minute plea for Single Payer. Maybe no one has asked her? Maybe I have simply not seen it.

1. When there is a bill that is written and ready to go up for a vote, then there is something specific
to speak out on. Right now, the conservatives are yelling and screaming about things that don't exist. If someone were to make a PSA on everything the conservatives claim, we'd be hit with the back-and-forth 24-7-365... and the general public would tune out even more.

2. "When there is a bill that is written"...is too late.
NOW is the time to let our "politicians" KNOW what is acceptable....and what is bullshit.

A weak provision masquerading as a "Public Option" that isn't available to "The Public" (HR 3200) IS bullshit, and our voices should be raised in opposition.

A "non-negotiation" clause for pharmaceuticals and providers is not acceptable, and our voices should be raised in opposition....NOW.
