All these years Craig T. Nelson (TV Series Coach) wasn't acting
I remembering seeing Nelson play the somewhat dimwitted head football coach at a fictional midwestern school and I always thought he did a fairly decent job of acting.
But, I saw a clip from his appearance on Fox where he uttered something to this effect:

"If I own a business and it loses money I go under. No one's ever helped me. I was on welfare. I was on food stamps. Nobody helped me."

The idiocy of his statement is fairly self explanatory, as welfare and food stamps are Public Assistance benefits provided by the government.

(I saw it on Daily Show Global Edition)

I guess he's trying to outdo Jon Voight for conservative Hollywood moron of the week.

A quick blast from the past. James Woods: Proudly proclaimed he voted for Bush twice. He hates Barbara Boxer.
Why? You may ask.
Because Mr Woods hates liars.

11. I spoke with a man yesterday who's been on Welfare and Medicaid his whole adult life...
Edited on Sun Aug-23-09 07:06 AM by polichick
...and says he despises the government. I called him out as a hypocrite and held out my hand for his Medicaid card. 'Course he thought I was being terribly unfair.

12. He was in another show where he was the police chief in DC
And he was GOOD! He regularly battled with the police culture, stood up for minorities who were getting screwed by the idiotic laws and brutalized by corrupt cops, defied the political bosses who pandered to a frightened citizenry, and even challenged congressional control of DC governance.

It was an excellent show and he played his part convincingly.

I realize it's just acting, but it's hard to believe some of the experiences from the show failed to penetrate his skull.

18. I saw that clip
I think he is doing a parody. Saying ridiculous things just to see if Beck will agree with him. When he goes on and encourages Beck to tell people not to pay their taxes he is setting a trap, because if Beck does that he can be shut down. I could swear I read that somewhere, but cannot find applicable law now.
